I bought this laptop refurbished from bestbuy for 379.99. It is a great buy. I bought it to replace a now defunct HP-G70. Sadly the HDD completely failed on a 2yo device. But besides that, it is exactly what I wanted. The screen is fantastic. The Widescreen LED format is very vibrant and clear and feels nicer then the old TFT screens. The audio is clear and loud, and just about what you would expect from a mainline HP device. They are Altec Lansing FWIW. The overall feel is very nice for its price point and of course it is a powerful laptop. My wife mainly uses it for a internet browser and "The SIMS 3" and I use it for android development, and stuff.
There are downsides:
1: The HDD failing on my other laptop was a bummer.. thank goodness I had just backed it up earlier that week.
2: The DVD drive vibrates quite a bit when running alot, like installing a program. It makes the entire laptop kind of shaky. This is the second HP laptop ive had this issue with (i had a DVD replaced on a L2000 laptop a few years back)
3: The Touchpad does NOT support scrolling on the side of the pad. Not a issue for me as I hate it, but for some its an issue.
4: This one is kind of a biggie. My wife was playing sims on battery power and it just went to sleep without warning due to the battery. Thats a good part, the bad thing is no warning. The lights (HDD,Power) are on the side of the device and completely invisible when running, and the power port is on the other side. So there is no LED indicator of low battery that you can see without actually moving the device. Major oversight IMO because on all the old HP models it was right up front so it is visible.
Those few things are the only real downsides keeping it from 5 stars. They are not deal breakers especially on a sub-$400 laptop (what i paid) but the design can deter some. I put more effort into the downsides then the UP because most of us know what we are buying, we read a review to see what we might not see :)

additional - Ive found that the touchpad supports dual finger scrolling. Place both fingers on the pad and drag to scroll.... Not very good IMO when I tried it out.... also use the AMD display settings to fine tune the display. LED displays have a bad nack to be very different between builds. so the stock settings may not suffice. Ive adjusted mine and it almost looks like a OLED display. Quite impressed.
